State Highway 7 construction west of Nacogdoches on schedule

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Those who use State Highway 7 to get to and from Nacogdoches have about eight more months until road work on the highway clears.

The Texas Department of Transportation says the construction project, which is 1.6 miles northeast of the Angelina River to 0.3 miles west of FM 2782, is on schedule and the road will be completed by the end of November 2013.

Ground was broken in August 2012 for the $6.1 million rehabilitation project that was awarded to Pinto Construction Co., Inc.

The contractor will be adding shoulders and passing lanes to the roadway and will also be conducting drainage work while building a detour for traffic until the road work is completed.
