BERLIN, CT (WFSB) -
A North Haven woman was killed during a multi-car crash that shut down a portion of Route 9 northbound in Berlin Tuesday afternoon.
Dozens of crews including members of the Berlin Police Department, Berlin Fire Department and Connecticut State Police responded around 1:30 p.m.
A rope was used to get someone who was down a 20 to 30-foot embankment off the highway.
Police said that Amanda Cartier, 22, died in the crash.
The crash on Route 9 closed all northbound lanes between Exits 21 and 22. The highway reopened just after 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by state police.
