LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The county health rankings are in and many East Texas counties have dropped in the rankings.
The rankings measure a variety of statistics -- like obesity, smoking and high school graduation rates.
The Northeast Texas Public Health District says there is some encouraging news in the report, but acknowledged there is room for improvement.
Angelina County dropped in the ranking in 2013. Last year, Angelina County was ranked 177 out of 232 counties. In 2013, the county's ranking fell to 189.
On the other hand, Nacogdoches County's ranking improved in 2013. The county went from a ranking of 185th out of 232 to a ranking of 167th out of 232 counties.
