'Building Bridges Benefit' getting support from across the state

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A few weeks ago we told you about Randy Bridges, a single-father who is suffering from multiple myeloma cancer who promised to build his 14-year-old daughter, Millie, a house in Etoile.

The "Building Bridges Benefit" has since held a brown bad lunch fundraiser that netted more than $1,800 dollars to help Randy with his treatment and build a home in the future.

The event organizers say support has poured in from all corners of Texas.

The Bridges team is planning their next big event which is a crawfish boil on Saturday, April 6 at 5:00 PM at Shirley Creek Marina,  near Etoile.

There will be bands, an auction, bouncy house for kids, raffle and a charity bike ride.

The bike ride starts at Cycle Heaven in Lufkin at 2:00 PM and head to the crawfish boil. They will be collecting $3 per bike.
