Google Engage is an invitation-only thought leadership series dedicated to businesses in the digital era. As a Google partner agency, local online marketing powerhouse Everspark Interactive decided to open the doors on the private series last week, hosting their first discussion forum and private party around the event.

The Google Engage series features influential and industry-savvy speakers delivering thought provoking talks about issues in digital media and business. Each session is streamed as a live broadcast from the Googleplex, Google's California headquarters. The broadcasts are only for partner agencies, but those agencies can choose who they include in a session.

Everspark chose to offer and open door policy, inviting a broad swath of the Atlanta tech scene to joine them for the event at a party at their headquarters. The event featured catering and giveaways as well as open discussion of the broadcast.

“At Everspark we believe we do more for the industry by openly helping people connect and innovate,” said Jason Hennessey, Everspark's CEO. “Not all of the companies who joined us are our clients, and not all will become clients – that's not the point. We believe that by building up the Atlanta tech and marketing industries, we benefit everyone.”

Among the speakers were Lisa Gevelber, Google's VP of Americas Marketing, who spoke to how businesses can keep up with a rapidly evolving digital landscape. Other speakers addressed how consumers choose what to buy online, and how to engage small businesses that aren't sure they're ready for an online presence.

“It was some of the best conversation I've had,” Hennessey said. “The people who came were there to brainstorm and critique, as well as network. It was like taking a piece of the Google thinktank and recreating it right here in Atlanta.”

Everspark intends to host similar events around future Engage broadcasts.
