It's the dream of nearly every football play who has played the game.
The dream of the NFL.
Today at SFA, scouts from 20 NFL teams were on hand, as SFA hosted their pro-day workouts.
"You see all the teams out here, and you are like 'wow, they are here to see me," said Willie Jefferson.
"You see how many of them are actually here and you know they players that they get to deal with," said Corey Dickerson. "So it is really intense."
"I think there were like 21 there and I started getting nervous," said Josh Aubrey. "My hands started sweating, it was just nerve racking, but once we got started, I finally calmed down and did what I had to do."
All for a shot in the NFL.
Hall of Famer Mean Joe Green, from the Steelers, was in attendance, as teams from across the league made the trip to Stephen F. Austin, where the players were put to the test.
As they tried to make the most of an opportunity
"When I was out there, I was like 'let's go.'" said Aubrey, a defensive back. "You have been waiting for it and praying for it, I just wanted to enjoy the moment."
Josh Aubrey was one several East Texans to showcase their skills.
The former Tyler Lee star was joined by big Corey Dickerson from Livingston
Jefferson native Cordell Roberson as well as Westwoods Gralyn Crawford all worked out.
All trying to be the next NFL player from East Texas.
"That would be awesome, I always told Cordell that he is going to be great one day in the NFL and not to forget us, so hopefully I can shake his hand when he is playing great," said Dickerson. "Aubrey had an amazing day and I'm sure he'll do great too."
"We have a ton of people in the league from the (903) and I feel like we are putting East Texas on the map," said Roberson. "And we are going to continue to do it because there is a lot of talent down here."
Talent on display today, that could make for a future in the NFL
"I don't want to be overlooked," said Roberson. "I want to be that 'wow' factor."
