PHOENIX (CBS5/AP) -

Jurors were able to take advantage of a long Easter weekend and won't resume hearing testimony in the first-degree murder trial of Jodi Arias until Tuesday.

The proceedings were scheduled for a day off Monday and are to resume at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Maricopa County Superior Court.

But not before there was a new twist in her trial when it resumed the morning of March 28 after being abruptly canceled the previous day.

The defense team accused prosecuting attorney Juan Martinez of misconduct. The defense claims Martinez had been seen signing autographs and taking pictures with people.

According to CBS 5 News reporter Jose Miguel, who is inside the courtroom, the defense said they have photos of him posing for pictures and that a juror may have seen it. Because of that, the jury may be tainted, according to Arias' defense team.

"What happens outside the courtroom is not misconduct," Martinez told the judge after hearing the defense team's accusations.

Martinez asked that the juror be identified to see if it is true, "because as we know, sometimes facts are not as they seem."

HLN correspondent Jean Casarez was called to the stand to testify what she allegedly witnessed involving Martinez. Casarez said she feared if a juror ever saw him posing for pictures or signing autographs that it could taint the jury.

Following Casarez's testimony, the jury returned to the courtroom and psychotherapist Alyce LaViolette returned to the stand for another day.

Arias faces a possible death sentence if convicted of first-degree murder in the 2008 killing of Travis Alexander in his Mesa home.

The trial was expected to continue Wednesday morning after the prosecution and defense met before a judge to discuss whether the costs of the trial should be made public. On Thursday, the court ruled to deny the motion to withhold the costs from public release. CBS 5 News has a records request in for the documents.

No reason for the cancellation was given.

Authorities say Arias planned the attack on her lover in a jealous rage. Arias initially told authorities she had nothing to do with it then said it was self-defense.

Arias says Alexander grew physically abusive prior to his death, but no trial evidence has supported her claims.

LaViolette testified on Tuesday that many victims of such abuse don't report it and rarely tell anyone because they feel ashamed and humiliated.

LaViolette has testified across the country in domestic violence cases, and talked extensively about the signs of what women experience during domestic violence, including not telling anyone about the abuse and actually lying in medical reports.

More than a few tar-covered tires are hanging on to the parking lot of a Lufkin tire shop.  On August 31, newly laid asphalt on Loop 287 started sticking to tires of those driving, leaving many of the cars un-driveable. As of Friday, the Texas Department of Transportation hadn't come out with an official cause for the incident, but that hasn't stopped over 600 people from filing claims with them.
