POLK COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Deputies with the Polk County Sheriff's Office arrested a 17-year-old Livingston man Monday for sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl on March 10.
Cody Lamar White was arrested Monday and charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child, which is a felony. His bail has been set at $50,000.
According to the arrest affidavit, a detective with the PCSO spoke with a woman with two daughters, ages 9 and 10, who told her that they saw White have sex with the 11-year-old victim in an old, abandoned house in the Indian Springs Subdivision.
When the detective tried to make contact with the girl's grandmother, he learned that both the victim and her grandmother were at the Livingston Memorial Medical Center ER reporting the sex assault. A Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner exam was conducted on the child, who used graphic terms to tell the SANE specialist that she had sex with White in an abandoned house.
On March 19, a forensic interview was conducted by an interviewer at Childrenz House with members of the Polk County Sexual Assault Team viewing the interview via closed circuit television from another room. The victim again said she had sex with White in an abandoned house, describing sex as "when a boy and a girl have sexual intercourse."
