ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers and Angelina County emergency personnel responded to a one-vehicle rollover accident on U.S. Highway 59 North near Redland Auto Salvage Thursday afternoon.

58-year-old Nina Hobbs of Avinger was transported to Memorial hospital for treatment of a possible head injury.

The accident occurred between 12:30 and 1 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Highway 59 and FM 843. DPS Trooper Tamela Snider said Hobbs was driving in the slow lane, looked up and took evasive action to avoid hitting a car. Her actions caused her vehicle to roll several times and wound up facing north in the grass median. Hobbs told Snider that she didn't know if the car pulled in front of her or was already there.

Lufkin firefighters had to use tools to get one woman out of the SUV. Trooper Snider says she was wearing her seatbelt. No other vehicles were involved.
