Former Groveton Indian brings NFL Network to town

GROVETON, TX (KTRE) -

It is less than a month until 2013 NFL Draft, and one of the big storylines for this year's draft is straight out of Groveton.

Former Groveton Indian Quarterback Lane Johnson will soon be wearing a NFL jersey as an offensive tackle.

Johnson put up one of the top 40 times ever at the combine.

None of this has been surprising to those who have known him since his Friday Night playing days

"To see Lane go from playing quarterback and safety to an offensive tackle in the NFL is a pretty neat story. We've known all along and were just waiting for the combine to happen. We expected that to happen because he is a remarkable athlete," said Groveton Athletic Director, Kevin Parker.

To add to all the excitement, the NFL Network will be in Groveton tomorrow filming some footage that they will use during the draft.
