City council passes 1st reading of proposed Lufkin smoking ordinances

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

The City of Lufkin is one step closer to being a smoke-free city.

Lufkin City Council members met Tuesday evening and passed the first reading of the proposed smoking ordinance.

Councilman Robert Shankle said the council will have a second reading on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at their scheduled council meeting then if the council agrees and passes the second reading, the ordinance will pass and Lufkin will be smoke-free.
