Robber steals money from woman in wheelchair

A woman in a wheelchair was robbed after making a cash withdrawal from her bank in Sherwood.

Police said it happened at about noon Wednesday. The woman was returning home from the U.S. Bank, 16030 S.W. Tualatin Sherwood Rd., when she was approached from behind by a man on Trumpeter Drive.

The victim said she could hear the suspect approaching and then he stepped in front of her and demanded money. The man kept his hand in his right pocket and said he had a weapon.

The woman gave the robber all her cash. She said he ran away toward Sherwood Boulevard.

Police searched the area, but did not locate the suspect.

He is described as a Hispanic man, about 30 years old. He is 185 pounds with broad shoulders. The man was wearing a dark beanie, blue jeans and a dark jacket with a light shirt underneath.

The suspect did not speak with an accent or have any facial fair, according to officers.
