2013 Cattle Baron's Lil' Wrangler Announced

TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

The annual Cattle Baron's Gala Chairmen announced their Lil' Wrangler this afternoon at Just Imagine Toys in the Marketplace Shopping Center in Tyler.

Laurel Anne Good is a second grader at Bullard Elementary and was born with TAR Syndrome, a condition which affects bone marrow. She received chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant in 2010, and has since recovered.

The Lil' Wrangler was chosen to be the face of the Wrangler's Roundup event, which is an opportunity for Pediatric Oncology patients to participate in some games, music and activities, to just have a little fun with family and friends. It takes place the Friday before the gala, and it's just for the kids.

"It gives them a sense of normalcy and it helps them to see that even though they're struggling with this terrible disease, they can still have fun. And hopefully with more breakthroughs in cancer treatment, they can go into remission, we can get them better and they can go on to live some kind of normal life," said Trudy Williams with Cattle Baron's.

This evening from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. the Market Shopping Center will donate a percentage of their sales to the American Cancer Society.

The 2013 Cattle Baron's Gala will be held at the Rio Neches Ranch on Saturday June 8.
