NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Nacogdoches County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 30-year-old woman after they executed a search warrant on a mobile home on Lake Street and allegedly found methamphetamine under her sleeping 4-year-old child Monday morning.

A loaded handgun was also found in the bed near the child.

Felicia Kay Hale is still being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail on a first-degree felony charge of possession of a controlled substance in a drug-free zone and a second-degree felony charge of child abandonment or endangerment. No bail has been set at this time.

According to a press release from the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office, conducted a probable cause search warrant on Hale's residence in the Hill View Trailer Park. Nacogdoches County Sheriff Jason Bridges said the NCSO has being investigating the possibility of drugs being distributed from the home for the past month.

When NCSO deputies and investigators executed the search warrant around 10 a.m. Monday, they allegedly found Hale and a 4-year-old child asleep in the back bedroom. After they woke the woman and the child up, they found the meth under the child.

"Deputies recovered 5.5 grams of methamphetamine from the residence, along with two loaded pistols, digital scales, plastic baggies, and other drug paraphernalia," the press release stated.

Child Protective Services was notified, and CPS workers responded to the scene.
