Warren Jeff's property up for auction

A compound that reportedly belongs to jailed polygamous leader Warren Jeffs is up for auction.

The Spectrum of St. George reports that a 6-acre property in Hildale, Utah, is being sold to pay Jeffs' estranged former bodyguard.

Last year, a judge awarded a $26 million judgment to William "Willie" Jessop who accused the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of destroying his excavating business, taking his property and harassing his family. FLDS leaders didn't show up to defend themselves in court.

A 10-foot high cinder block wall surrounds several buildings in the compound. There are security cameras and no trespassing signs.

It goes up for auction Thursday.

Jeffs is serving a life prison in Texas for sexually assaulting two underage girls he took as brides.

Judges at the Angelina County Youth Fair tasted a variety of salsas on Thursday, and it was anything but mild. It's the 69th year the fair has been held, but this is the first time for the salsa, jam, and jellies competition. Many who entered say they were torn between green or red. "I think it's a lot of fun because some kids don't like to bake but there's lots of different aspects of cooking and so salsa and jam and jellies is kind of a loss art," said Kate Rudasill, a j...
