Hudson softball ready to defend state title

Posted: Updated:
HUDSON, TX (KTRE) -

The Hudson softball team, which won the class 3A state title a year ago is gunning for back to back state championships after qualifying for the playoffs this season. The Lady Hornets open the postseason on Saturday against Groesbeck in the bi-district round of the playoffs.

Hudson, who only lost two starters off of last years team is confident heading into the playoffs. They are led by senior pitcher Kelsee Selman who is second in the entire county in strikeouts. The girls say they will need a little luck along the way and will need to play their best softball when it matters most, but believe winning back to back state titles is possible.
