Search warrant issued for car in connection to Kaufman Co. murder

From the Kaufman County Sheriff's Department:

KAUFMAN COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - Investigators with the joint task force investigating the murders of Mike and Cynthia McLelland and Mark Hasse continue to work leads and follow up on information in the case. A search warrant was issued on April 19 for a silver 2001 Mercury Sable that was located by the joint task force and linked to the murder of Mark Hasse.

The Mercury Sable had been towed from the Gibson's Self Storage property after it was discovered abandoned on the property. The silver Mercury Sable had not been seen on the property before it was discovered there on February 25. It was towed on March 7, at the request of the storage facility management.

The Mercury Sable matches the description of the vehicle (silver Ford Taurus) described by witnesses as being seen fleeing the scene of the murder of Mark Hasse on January 31 in Kaufman. Investigators believe that this vehicle is the vehicle used by Eric and Kim Williams in the commission of the homicide of Mark Hasse.

If anyone has information about this vehicle, they are encouraged to contact investigators with the joint task force. Investigators continue to work leads and tips that have come in. The investigative task force continues to urge the public to call the tip line at 1-877-TIPSKCC (1-877-847-7522) with any information they may have concerning the murders.
