Jeff Foxworthy in Atlanta, talks new CBS baking show

ATLANTA (CBS46) -

Comedian Jeff Foxworthy stopped for a visit in Atlanta Thursday night to host a special event.

The Centennial Celebration Gala took place at the Georgia World Congress Center in downtown Thursday night. The occasion was for the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau, which is celebrating 100 years of hospitality.

Foxworthy is a busy entertainer, who hosts the Game Show Network's The American Bible Challenge. He's now preparing to host another show airing on CBS Atlanta.

He will serve as frontman for the U.S. adaptation of The Great British Bake Off. The baking competition features competitive baking challenges.

"Unlike all of these others cooking shows where these people are like chefs, these people are firemen and doctors, lawyers, teachers. And, bakers are weird. They don't do it for themselves. They do it to give it away," says Foxworthy.

The American Baking Competition, which was shot in North Georgia premieres May 29 at 8 p.m. on CBS Atlanta.
