LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

The Lufkin football team opened spring practice on Monday afternoon. The Panthers who will hold their annual spring game on Thursday May 23rd will have four weeks of camp. Head Coach Todd Quick wants to build a solid foundation heading into the fall.

This is the perfect time to work on the fundamentals and technique. Coach Quick wants competition everyday in practice and says no starting position is nailed down. The spring is meant for the team to add depth and fill holes left by graduating seniors. Some key position to watch for are at Quarterback, running back, wide receiver, defensive back, and defensive line.
