NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Deputies with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office arrested three Nacogdoches men in connection to two burglaries that occurred in the Appleby area in late March or early April.

Mickey Jerome Johnson Jr., 19, Alfredo Antonio Olmeda, 17, and Mauricio Sanchez, 17, were arrested and charged with two felony counts of engaging in organized criminal activity. Johnson and Olmeda are still being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail. No bail has been set for any of them.

In a press release, Nacogdoches County Sheriff Jason Bridges said his deputies investigated two burglaries that occurred within a week of each other on County Road 256 and FM 2609 and found that there were similarities in how the break-ins occurred.

"Sheriff Office investigators caught a break in the case after gaining information on several other recent arrest that have been made on burglary investigations over the course of the last month.," Bridges said in the press release. "While conducting those investigations, the Sheriff's Office was able to recover stolen property from one of the residence's that had been burglarized."

That, in turn, helped NCSO detectives identify the three suspects in the ongoing criminal cases. They interviewed the three men, and they allegedly confessed to the burglaries. Working from the confessions and evidence, the authorities got arrest warrants for the three men.

Sanchez and Johnson had previously been arrested for a burglary that occurred on CR 806 on April 8.
