LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The Texas Department of Transportation has released the crash report for a one-vehicle rollover accident that happened on Moffett Road Friday afternoon.
Four people were seriously injured in the accident, including 18-year-old Donavon Kadell Bronson, who was the driver of the Chevrolet Cavalier that flipped over three times.
According to the report, Bronson was traveling at an unsafe speed over railroad tracks on Moffett Road near Kit McConnico Park when he lost control of the car. The car spun out jumping a raised curb and flipping over three times before coming to a rest upright.
Lufkin emergency personnel responded to the accident at approximately 4 p.m. on Friday.
According to Devin Trotti, an officer with the Lufkin Police Department, there were two males and two females in the vehicle when the accident occurred.
Edward Tomez, 18, Lucia Alfaro, 20, and Taryn L. Cantu, 17, were all transported from the scene of the accident by Lufkin E.M.S to Memorial Hospital.
Bronson, who has been charged with unsafe speed, and driving without a driver's license and insurance, was transported to Woodland Heights before being transferred to a Tyler hospital. All four individuals have since been released from the hospital.
The report says Bronson told officers that a dog crossing his path contributed to the accident, but tire marks found on the road indicate that Bronson was traveling at a high speed.
