NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Judge Ed Kline of Nacogdoches 420th Judicial District Court sentenced Samuel Seth Froman, of Laconia, Indiana., to two years in state prison Friday in connection to a Jan. 2012 traffic stop that resulted in the seizure of more than 50 pounds of marijuana.

Froman appeared in front of Kline during a sentencing hearing.

Froman and Anthony Pierce, 31, of Louisville, Kentucky, were arrested Nacogdoches Police Drug Interdiction Program officers after they found the 50-plus pounds of marijuana in the trunk of their vehicle as a result of a traffic stop on Southwest Stallings Drive.

In an unrelated marijuana case, Kline also sentenced Johnny Dewayne Hardy, Monroe, Louisiana, to six months in prison Friday for his part in trafficking marijuana through Nacogdoches.

Hardy was arrested along with two other men from Monroe, Louisiana in September 2011. Cameron Ray Manning and Joshua Darnell Manning pleaded guilty to marijuana trafficking charges in April 2012. Both men will serve their three-year probation sentences in Louisiana.
