TITUS COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

The man who kidnapped a 14-year-old Mount Pleasant girl is in custody and the girl has been found safe, according to Titus County authorities.

At approximately 3:00 p.m. Monday, a little over twenty-four hours after the kidnapping of a young teenager girl. the suspect and victim were found deep in the woods in Titus county. Workers at the Luminant mine company spotted a male and female walking on the railroad tracks on the mine's property Monday at around noon. This location is about one mile from the location of the wrecked stolen vehicle used during the kidnapping which was found on County Road 2500, about eight miles west of Mount Pleasant.

Titus County Sheriff Tim Ingram's Office received the call and immediately set up a perimeter of the area with regional resources. After the area was locked down search teams walked through the woods looking for the suspect and victim. During the search both were found deep in the woods.
Suspect Jesus Ramirez was taken into custody without incident. Victim Ruby Zavala was transported to Titus County Regional Medical Center for severe dehydration and other non-life-threatening injuries.

The family is thankful for the safe return of Ruby, they say.

Around 1:00 p.m. Sunday, a mother and two children were taken by knife point by 23-year-old Jesus Ramires in a church parking lot, according to law enforcement. The suspect then took the three victims by vehicle to a county residence. The mother and one of the children were then released. Ramires kept 14-year-old Ruby Zavala.

Ramires' records show that he has multiple assault charges and a sexual assault charge, as recently as March 27, 2013.

More than a few tar-covered tires are hanging on to the parking lot of a Lufkin tire shop.  On August 31, newly laid asphalt on Loop 287 started sticking to tires of those driving, leaving many of the cars un-driveable. As of Friday, the Texas Department of Transportation hadn't come out with an official cause for the incident, but that hasn't stopped over 600 people from filing claims with them.
