Nacogdoches woman gets five years probation for hitting jailer

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

A Nacogdoches woman got five years probation Thursday for an assaulting a public servant charge.

Elizabeth Howard appeared in front of Judge Ed. Klein in Nacogdoches 420th Judicial District Court Wednesday for a plea hearing.

According to a report from the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office, Howard struck a female jailer early the morning of Sept. 2, 2012. Then-Nacogdoches County Sheriff Thomas Kerss said the jailer suffered minor injuries.

Howard was originally on a misdemeanor assault charge.
