HEBRON, CT (WFSB) -

An Amston man was killed early Saturday morning after the vehicle he was driving veered off the road on Rt. 85 in Hebron.

According to police, 28-year-old Grayson Minney was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Minney was the lead singer of local Connecticut band "Columbia Fields".

Minney was traveling home from work after a shift at the Wood-n-Tap in Vernon.

Police say Minney was driving south on Rt. 85, just north of Rt. 94 around 3:40 a.m. Minney lost control of the vehicle and veered off the west side of the road before striking a metal guardrail.

The car then became airborne, police said, before it landed in a grassy shoulder. The car then struck two trees and came to a rest on the west shoulder facing south.

A memorial has been set up at the scene of the crash.
