Nacogdoches PD: 70-year-old woman injures 2 motorcyclists in DWI wreck

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Nacogdoches Police officers arrested a 70-year-old Etoile woman for felony intoxicated assault after she allegedly turned in front of two motorcycle riders on Southeast Stallings Drive Sunday evening.

According to Sgt. Greg Sowell, a spokesman for the Nacogdoches Police Department, both motorcycle riders suffered "incapacitating" injuries and were taken to a Nacogdoches hospital.

Dorothy Allen is still being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail on a third-degree felony charge of intoxicated assault with a vehicle. No bail has been set at this time.

The wreck occurred in the 700 block of Southeast Stallings Drive at 6:11 p.m. Sunday. Allen was driving a 2001 Saturn west on the loop when she attempted a left turn into a private driveway near the intersection of Wicker Street. and turned into the path of two eastbound motorcycles, a 2009 Harley-Davidson and a 2011 Harley Davidson.

The motorcycle riders, Damian Oldmixon, 56, and Lisa Ann Duncan, 44, both of Nacogdoches, were transported to a Nacogdoches hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Allen was arrested at the scene after she failed a field sobriety test.
