LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - More than 250 golfers tee-ed off for charity at the 14th annual Brookshire Brothers golf tournament at Crown Colony Country Club today.
Vendors from across the country spent their Monday golfing and networking with their Brookshire Brothers business contacts all while raising money for the community.
All the entry fees go into the Brookshire Brothers Charitable Foundation and are distributed to non-profits.
"I got to admit it's a great day," said Pat Moore, a Key Account Manager at General Mills in Houston. "I get to see all my colleagues and customers but even more importantly its great to give back to the community. General mills likes to nourish lives, that's one of our big slogans and this is an opportunity to meet with a customer and do the same thing all at once."
A spokeswoman for Brookshire Brothers says they will be able to raise up to $100,000 to give to east Texas non-profits.
