SFA baseball says field is wide open in SLC Tourney

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - With bags packed and the hopes of bringing back a Southland Conference tournament trophy to Nacogdoches, the Stephen F. Austin baseball team left on Tuesday morning for Sugar Land. The sixth seeded Jacks who are making their fifth straight SLC tournament appearance, will open play on Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock against third seeded oral Roberts. SFA swept the Golden Eagles in the regular season, but the three games were decided by a total of 4 runs. The jacks who were the six seed last year advanced to the semifinals. The field figures to be wide open considering only twice since 1993 has the number one seed claimed the tournament title.
