Kilgore softball player beats the odds

Posted: Updated:

Kilgore senior McKalyn Pinter signed with Northeast Texas Community College Wednesday.  It wasn't easy reaching her dream.

As a child, Pinter was diagnosed with absent seizures and a thyroid problem.  Pinter overcame it all, to become an all district performer for the Lady Bulldogs.  Now she's reached her ultimate goal of playing college softball.

"The doctors visits were a lot of work," said Pinter.  "Blood work and getting through that stuff and making sure the heat didn't get to me and making sure I was okay in the end. It finally in the end, did what I wanted it to do."

Pinter has assisted with the Special Olympics and The Boys and Girls Club.
