(RNN) - At least a dozen restaurants in the Cleveland area have pledged to give the man who rescued three Ohio women from captivity free burgers for life.
Charles Ramsey, the guy who famously stopped eating his Big Mac to rescue Amanda Berry, Gina Dejesus and Michelle Knight, will now receive free burgers for the rest of his life from dozens of Cleveland area restaurants.
Cleveland .com reports Ramsey inspired the following 14 restaurants to join the burger tribute: AMP 150 at the Marriott Cleveland Airport, Washington Place Bistro and Inn, Fahrenheit, Market Garden Brewery, Bier Markt, Bar Cento, Nano Brew, Welshfield Inn, Hodges and Pura Vida, 87 West at Crocker Park, Orchard House, Flour, and Allegheny Grille - which is actually Pennsylvania.
"I heard screaming. I'm eating my McDonald's. I come outside and I see this girl going nuts trying to get out of the house," Ramsey said in an interview with ABC. "I go on the porch and she says, 'Help me get out, I've been in here a long time.'"
On May 7, McDonald's tweeted, "We salute the courage of Ohio kidnap victims & respect their privacy. Way to go Charles Ramsey – we'll be in touch."
There has been no word on what McDonalds' plans are regarding Ramsey or if they plan to join the other restaurants in the burger tribute.
