Nacogdoches PD: Robbery suspect assaults victim, threatens with hammer

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Nacogdoches Police officers are looking for a man who allegedly kicked in the front door of a residence in the 2200 block of Lola Street and allegedly stole cash from the resident after he assaulted her and threatened her with a hammer Tuesday morning.

According to Sgt. Greg Sowell, a spokesman for the Nacogdoches Police Department, the suspect is a black man in his mid-20s who is between 5'7" and 5'10" on height. The man was last seen wearing a white shirt and dark pants, and he fled residence on foot in an unknown direction after the alleged robbery.

The aggravated robbery occurred between 1:20 and 1:26 a.m. Monday. After the man allegedly assaulted the woman and threatened her with a hammer, the man forced her to give him money from her purse before he left her residence.
