Kurth Memorial Library gearing up for the summer this Saturday

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The Kurth Memorial Library in Lufkin has been spending all week gearing up for summer.

Their annual summer kickoff party is this Saturday.

The library will be open from 9 A.M.-5:30 P.M.

Patrons will be able to sign up for the various summer programs.

There will also be a family genealogy workshop and it will also be amnesty day, to where any libraryfine can be forgiven.

All this to encourage summer learning and fun!

"We want to entertain the kids. We like to keep them busy in the summer time and keep them busy having them do something constructive. Also, parents can sneak in a little education in the summer," said Library Director, Loraune Simoneau.

All the events are free to the public. There is an average of about six events per week.
