Officer assaulted at downtown bar, say police

Posted: Updated:

Metro police say one of their officers was assaulted by a man who got kicked out of a bar this weekend.

The incident happened at a Honky Tonk Central on Saturday night on lower Broadway.

According to jail records, the suspect, Zachary Hill, 25, was accused of walking out without paying his tab.

The bouncer then called police.

An officer arrived and began to cite Hill for public intoxication, but police said he began to punch and kick the officer.

Metro police say they were forced to use a chemical spray to get control of Hill and put him in handcuffs.

Hill is charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, assaulting an officer and public intoxication.
