NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Firefighters with the Nacogdoches Fire Department battled a suspicious fire at a two-story house in the 1900 block of NE Stallings Drive Wednesday afternoon. In the wake of the fire, the Nacogdoches Police Department is holding two male subjects for questioning.

The fire started at approximately 1:45 p.m. Wednesday. Del Birdwell, Nacogdoches' city fire marshal, said the home was fully involved when firefighters arrived on the scene. Although fire crews contained the fire quickly, Birdwell said the home was heavily damaged as a result of the blaze.

"We have multiple points of ignition, and that means the fire was set in several different places," Birdwell said.

Elaborating further, Birdwell said the ignition points were on both the ground and second floors of the home. He said several areas in the home were heavily damaged.

Birdwell said, at this time, the two males have not been arrested.
