Lufkin's Senior Circle to host senior citizens prom

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - It's time to get out your clogs and bell bottoms because if you're over the age of 50, Lufkin's Senior Circle has a treat for you.

On Thursday, June 20, the Senior Circle will host its Senior Prom for senior citizens. The prom will feature tunes from the '60s and '70s played by Lufkin's Crimestoppers Band. Desserts will be provided by the Grandough Baking Company and the prom will also have dinner and door prizes.

"Senior prom celebrates the five-year anniversary of Senior Circle. Senior Circle is a program for men and women over the age of 50. We know that 50 is still young, but as you age it's important to stay active so we offer monthly activities from free luncheons to game days and we also travel and have cooking demonstrations," Christie Maddux, the marketing representative for Woodland Heights, said.

Tickets for the prom are $10 for Senior Circle members and $15 for non Senior Circle members.

"We are all excited about senior prom this year. We just wanted a fun way to celebrate our five-year anniversary and get in touch with everyone's inner youth," Maddux said.
