LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

When a man went to drop off a Dodge pickup at a residence in the 300  block of Lufkin's Bartmess Street Thursday afternoon, he and his two passengers received an unpleasant surprise. A large tree fell on the truck, injuring the man's two passengers.

"We just came out to get a couple starters repaired and by the time we pulled into the yard the tree fell over," Larry Garrett said.

Garrett had just gotten out of the truck when the tree came crashing down on the pickup's roof. The two friends that were passengers in the truck were taken to Lufkin's Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

"It just fell. We thought it was thunder," Garrett said.
