LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Angelina County emergency crews worked to clear a six-vehicle accident that occurred on U.S. Highway 59 North just outside of Lufkin Thursday afternoon.
Two people were taken to a Lufkin hospital for treatment of injuries they received as a result of the accident. Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Rodney Tucker said five of the drivers involved were cited for failure to control speed.
The wreck occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 59 near the railroad trestle just north of Lufkin.
Traffic is moving again in both the north and southbound lanes of traffic on Highway 59.
