NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Nacogdoches Police officers arrested a 54-year-old man for injury to the elderly after he and another man allegedly pushed a 72-year-old man to the ground in a parking lot in the 300 block of N. Pecan Street Thursday afternoon.
Cecil Clyde Davis Jr., of Nacogdoches, is still being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail on a second-degree felony charge of injury to a child, the elderly, or the disabled. No bail has been set at this time.
According to Sgt. Greg Sowell, a spokesman for the Nacogdoches Police Department, the 72-year-old man was allegedly assaulted by Davis and another man during a disturbance. At about 4:44 p.m. Thursday, NPD officers were dispatched out on a disturbance call.
The caller told the 911 dispatcher that he or she saw the two men push the 72-year-old down and said that the older man was slow in getting up. Sowell said the 72-year-old man suffered a cut to his head as a result of being pushed to the asphalt.
Davis was arrested at the scene, and Sowell said an arrest warrant has been requested for the other man involved in the alleged assault.
