Lufkin man gets 5 years probation for beating up girlfriend for 5 hours

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

An Angelina County judge sentenced a 28-year-old Lufkin man to five years probation for assaulting his girlfriend over the course of a five-hour period in August 2012.

Chris Lee Miller appeared before Judge Gerald Goodwin during "rocket docket" for a sentencing hearing Friday morning.

Lufkin Police officers arrested Miller on the morning of Aug. 20, 2012 in the 1800 block of Denman Avenue. According to the police report, a woman told authorities that her live-in boyfriend had assaulted her repeatedly for five hours.

Miller was charged with aggravated kidnapping and third-degree felony assault.
