ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A woman was killed in a one-vehicle accident on US 69 South at FM 1818 Sunday afternoon.
According to DPS Trooper, Rusty Pitts 88-year-old Mildred Hoch, of Kennard, was a passenger an older model Mercury Mountaineerm, driven by her daughter, Nancy Hoch, on US 69 headed toward Zavalla when apparently a rear tire blew out sending the vehicle into a grassy area where it then rolled and came to rest on the roof.
DPS says Mildred Hoch was partially trapped underneath the vehicle.
She was pronounced dead on the scene by Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1, Billy Ball.
There was another adult female and 3 children in the vehicle at the time of the accident. All 4 were taken to a Lufkin hospital via ambulance with unknown injuries. DPS says all the passengers were properly restrained.
Brent Greusel, of Huntington, came to the scene and says Hoch was his grandmother. Greusel's mother, Nancy, and his 3 children were the other passengers in the vehicle. The 3 children have been treated and released from the hospital.
