SFA's Robinson earns preseason All-American honor

Stephen F. Austin junior defensive end Darren Robinson has been named to the 2013 Beyond Sports Network (BSN) Preseason All-America squad. It is the first preseason All-America honor of Robinson's career.

Robinson is coming off a sophomore season that saw him earn first-team All-Southland Conference honors in 2012. After sitting out the 2011 campaign, Robinson was one of the league's more dominant players as a sophomore.

Robinson finished the season with 31 total tackles, including 10 solo stops, from his defensive end position. He ended the season ranked second in the conference, and among the nation's top 25, with 7.5 sacks, and was among the league's top 10 in tackles for losses (11.5).

The Dallas, Texas native, enters his junior season have recorded 62 total tackles, 18.0 tackles for losses and nine total sacks.

The 'Jacks kick off the 2013 season with two games on the road beginning Saturday, Aug. 31 at Weber State. SFA will open the home portion of its schedule Saturday, Sept. 14 against McMurry.
