Lightning causes Rock Creek Fire in eastern Arizona

Crews are fighting a wildfire that has spread to 181 acres in eastern Arizona.

The Rock Creek Fire is burning in steep terrain on State Institutional Trust Lands, eight miles east of White River. The fire is reportedly burning in timber at 8,000 feet, according to the Incident Information System.

Thirty firefighters are working to stop the fire that is 25-percent contained as of late Friday afternoon.

A helicopter is dropping water on the blaze.

Officials say lightning caused the fire Friday morning.

The fire is expected to be contained as early as Tuesday.
