LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Some East Texas ladies have the fourth Wednesday of every month marked on their calendar.
That's when Memorial Hospital in Lufkin hosts a Women's Power Luncheon. The lunch and seminar are free for anyone who attends Wednesday.
This month's topic will cover cancer health care in east Texas and how those affected are able to stay close to home to receive the treatment they need.
"This month we have Dr. Sid Roberts coming to speak about cancer, cancer in our area and to remind that we do have the Arthur Temple Sr. Regional Cancer Center for treatment," said Lindsey Mott, the community relations specialist. "We'll also have Melony Wilkerson coming to speak about our infusion center."
The Women's Power Lunch will be this Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m. in the medical staff meeting room at Memorial.
Attendees are asked to bring a gently used children's book as a donation to Books that Benefit.
