NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Qualifying for a state tournament in any sport at any age is difficult. But, imagine doing that in your first year as a program or team. Well that's exactly what the 10 and under Nacogdoches Lady Devils volleyball team did earlier this summer. Playing in a league governed by the Texas Amateur Athletic Foundation, the Lady Devils who are in their first year playing together advanced to the state tourney in Round Rock which was played on June 1st and 2nd. Now the girls didn't bring back a title, but the experience was one they will never forget. It has pushed the team to stay together and compete again in the fall. Nacogdoches is also hoping to put an 8 and under and 12 and under team together as well, but they need players!
