UN Officials Say Palestinian Girl Shot By Israeli Troops While In Class

UN officials say a ten-year-old Palestinian girl is in critical condition after being shot in the head by Israeli forces while sitting in school.

They say the girl was seated at her desk during morning classes at the UN run school Tuesday when she was shot. The school is in a refugee camp in the Gaza Strip.

Israel says its forces didn't fire on any buildings at the time, but it does say its troops had exchanged fire with militants.

UN officials say it's the third time in two years one of its students has been the victim of "indiscriminate" gunfire by Israeli forces.
