LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - When Bob saw a car cruise by the property he was living on, he ran towards it hoping to take a ride to his new life.
We'd like you to meet Bob. He's a 9-month-old border collie mix. He's super soft, sweet as can be and ready to go home!
"He's very laid back and friendly," said Paula Divello, the director of the Winnie Berry Humane Society. "He's also very small for a border collie and won't get much bigger.
Bob decided to hitch a ride to the Humane Society in hopes of getting some love and attention.
"An associate of ours was actually driving down a very busy road and passed a big property," Divello said. "The property owners probably didn't even know that puppies had been born there and you know they were in the road, so Bob actually ran right up to the car and jumped in the backseat which is so great. He was so little at the time; we got him when he was about 4 months old. They said when he was running towards the car all, and you could see was black ears and then grass, black ears then grass. Because he just bounded over toward the car."
Bob has good manners. He's up-to-date on all his shots and friendly with other animals.
"He's very sweet. He really needs a forever home," Divello said. "He loves kids, likes cats, plays with other dogs, his play group there are 8 other dogs in his play group so he really does get along with everybody.
