Investigation launched into the injury of a disabled male by caretaker

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Lufkin Police and Adult protective services are investigating an injury to a disabled person.

According to Sgt. Mike Shurley, Lufkin Police were called out to an assisted living center/group home in the 300 block of Jones Street in regards to a report by a patient that he was hit in the head.

After a shift change, the 35 year old male told the new caretaker of the incident.

"A further inspection of the victim showed new, fresh bruising on the victim's body," said Shurley.

The owner of the facility could not be determined by Police at this time.

The case is still under investigation.
