2-vehicle wreck on US 69 North in Pollok sends 1 to hospital

ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - One person was taken to a Lufkin hospital following a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 69 North across from the Lufkin State Supported Living Facility Wednesday morning.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Clint Henderson, 89-year-old Dallas Sanders was driving north on Highway 69 in a Ford F-150 when he attempted to turn left into the parking lot of the Polk's convenience store. He turned in front of a gray Dodge Dakota pickup driven by 55-year-old Thomas Maxwell.

Maxwell was transported to a Lufkin hospital for treatment of a possible broken hand.

Sanders was cited for failure to yield right of way.
