PRESCOTT, AZ (CBS5) -

A 43-year-old Prescott woman whose blood-alcohol level tested at nearly three times the legal limit faces multiple felony charges after she was suspected of driving into a road construction zone, hitting four vehicles and injuring two people Tuesday night.

Police said Stephanie Bustamante's blood-alcohol readings were 0.216 percent and 0.213 percent about three hours after the crash. Arizona's legal limit for driving under the influence is 0.08 percent.

Bustamante was charged with multiple counts of felony DUI, felony endangerment, and aggravated assault after the crash in the 700 block of Whipple Street about 8:20 p.m., according to a Prescott Police Department news release.

Police said the crash area covered about 1,700 feet after she struck the first vehicle. She also hit a milling machine, police said. There were 35 workers in the immediate area, but only two workers in pickup trucks that were struck suffered injuries, police said.

Officers said Bustamante would not tell them what happened after the crash. She was taken to a nearby hospital with minor cuts and bruises and for evaluation and was released to police, officers said.

The two workers were also taken to a hospital with whiplash-like injuries and released later Tuesday night.

Prescott police officers obtained blood and urine samples and Bustamante also provided a breath sample, which indicated the blood-alcohol concentrations.

Bustamante was taken to the Yavapai County Jail in Camp Verde and booked.

More than a few tar-covered tires are hanging on to the parking lot of a Lufkin tire shop.  On August 31, newly laid asphalt on Loop 287 started sticking to tires of those driving, leaving many of the cars un-driveable. As of Friday, the Texas Department of Transportation hadn't come out with an official cause for the incident, but that hasn't stopped over 600 people from filing claims with them.
