CROCKETT, TX (KTRE) -

Two Trinity men are in jail Friday morning after allegedly stealing two lawn mowers and leading authorities across three counties.

According to Crockett Police Chief David Cross, 49 year-old Michael Miracle and 23 year-old Cody Wade stole two zero-turn John Deere lawnmowers from Fish and Still Equipment in Crockett Thursday night.

The two men loaded the lawn mowers into a pickup and fled the scene, Cross said.

Cross said the two men dumped the lawn mowers on the side of the road, after they found out they were being pursued by authorities.

According to Trinity County Sheriff Woody Wallace, Trinity County deputies took over the chase of the two suspects once they crossed into Trinity County.

The two were eventually caught just inside Walker County.

Cross said early Friday morning, police were able to recover the stolen lawn mowers about a mile and a half south of Lovelady on FM 230. The lawn mowers were said to be in good shape.

Both Miracle and Wade are being charged with third-degree theft and are currently in the Houston County Jail.
